But bad music was not the agenda Wednesday evening. The headline act was Antje Duvekot. I had never heard of Antje before. She was wonderful. Really good folk music—I guess not limited to folk but found more often there—sweeps beyond the words and the lyrics and just transfers a raw emotional experience. This was one of those evenings. Anyway I had lots of fun. Thanks Margaret for the experience.
Went to Johnny D's this Wednesday with mrw42 to celebrate her last week of fulltime employment. It was fun. I had never been before. I usually think I'm not going to like live music and often end up being wrong. Perhaps one day I'll remember this and get around to deciding that I like good live music. I think the problem is that if the music is bad, there's nothing I can do but sit (or even worse stand) and not enjoy it. Live music is typically loud enough that it destroys any other perceptions of the environment I might have.
